Some tips on becoming a vegetarian!

Although you may think becoming a vegetarian is easy it is actually hard, here are a couple tips, and pointers on how to maintain your vegetarian diet.:

1. Decide what type of vegetarian you are.
2. Start gradually, don't completely get rid of meat, chicken, and fish. Have this process take a week. (It took me 1 and a half weeks.)
3. Get your friends involved.
4. Understand why you are becoming a vegetarian.
5. Thinking of some recipes you like that could easily be made into a vegetarian dish. ex. Chicken Parmesan to Eggplant Parmesan.
6. Find fast food restaurants that serve vegetarian food. ex. Burger King and Subway
7. Create a food diary, this will help you chart your progress in becoming a vegetarian.
8. Count how much protein you are taking in!!!!
9. Find a food store that caries frozen vegetarian meals.
10. Make sure you are satisfied with your choice.

Hello! How about I introduce myself?

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I guess I should tell you guys who I am. Well my name is Zach, and I am 12 years old. I WAS a vegetarian for 2 months, but I was losing weight so my mom told me I had to eat fish... YUCK!!! Well I have been a pescatarian (The word “pescatarian” is occasionally used to describe those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish.) for over a year now. I became a vegetarian when my mom said that vegetarians live longer then people that eat meat... I was naive and believed her. (: Enough about me... I have my first question for all of you reading this blog, Why did you become a vegetarian, be it religious,or personal reasons. One thing you guys can look forward to is having me post my favorite recipes and some tips on making the transition from eating meat, fish, and chicken to just veggies and/or fish.
